No, it’s not an Ikea room set, it’s my new flat. And it’s lovely :-)
If all works out, I shall be moving to my new flat in Guildford this week. Hence, more white-van-man antics.

Writing about: Wind Energy Research Reaps Rewards
Back in 1981, an engineer at NASA developed a model for how wind turbines operate in strong wind, which was mostly ignored by the scientific community at the time. However…
The wind energy program ended later that year, and both engineers moved along in their careers. Viterna became NASA Glenn’s Lead for Center Strategy and Business Development, and Corrigan went on to manage an International Space Station support project.Neither of them thought much about the paper until, on a whim, Viterna searched the Internet for his name and the word “wind.” Experts in the wind energy field commonly referred to the analytical model as “Viterna & Corrigan” or “the Viterna method.”
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “It had become the leading method for predicting wind turbine performance, and I had no idea this was going on.”
Ok, I admit it – I’ve got a facebook account. I don’t really collect contacts, but people seem to add me occasionally, so that’s ok. And the status updates provide a little amusement sometimes (names changed to protect the guilty):
#### is hungover beyond belief but at work….
I’ve made an offer to rent a flat in Guildford, if it works out I’ll be moving toward the end of next week, which is good since my job starts the week after (whoo!). Moving’s going to be sweaty work, though. Guess I’ll be renting a van again – bit more expensive down south, but shouldn’t be a killer. Need to persuade one of my brothers to help me carry stuff…
Getting an eyelash stuck under your contact lens. Never happened before. Easily solved, but not nice.
I made this!
Replaced the oven and hotplate. Much manly grunting required whilst manhandling 30 Amp electrical cable into the right shape, but no injuries and nothing blew up when I powered it all up.
Mum’s mostly impressed about having a working oven light for the first time in a decade.
