More from the eye.
I’m going to miss this.
The Cutty Sark. I have some very distant memories of visiting Greenwich when I was a child; I remember the maritime muesum, and I think we went aboard the Cutty Sark. I must have been 8 or 10 then, I guess, and I hadn’t been back to that part of london since.
It’s easy to forget that, not that long ago, ships like this were the main vessels of trade around the world. This one worked as a tea clipper, and then as a wool clipper. Modern container transports seem so much less personal than this ship.
The Eye – nothing particularly special (photography wise), but it’s all quite nice.
The security procedures are a joke, though – waving a wand around, asking “have you got anything sharp on you”, and looking that my camera bag contains a camera. Oh well.
Had a day out in London yesterday, all touristic and stuff :)
This is the old Naval college in Greenwich; really impressive buildings.
Another one from Germany at the New Year. I like the variation in the image, from the high-contrast of the fence at the front, to the misty low-contrast at the house.
I like silver birches; the texture of the bark is quite unlike any other tree that I’ve come across, and the shape of the tree is so appealing – tall and graceful, swaying in the wind.
It’s so complicated, it makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
Seems like a long time ago now.
The Evil Sheep that is now living with me, part of the time. Just don’t ask.
